A few things that look unrelated have been colliding usefully.
Grok Bot from xAI is taking off as an agent platform partly because it’s easy to use and doesn’t lean on your laptop’s local compute to keep agents alive — meaning you can leave work running without the machine glued to a desk session.
If your daily driver is Linux, the usual objection is “cool, but it’s only on Windows and macOS.” That’s where Omarchy comes in: DHH’s beautiful, fun, opinionated Linux. It’s Arch-like without the traditional Arch install tax — genuinely easy to get onto a laptop — and they’ve packaged Grok Bot for it. That combination is what I’d been waiting for.
I installed Omarchy on my laptop over the weekend (replacing my previous Arch setup), subscribed to Grok Bot / SuperGrok, and ditched Claude Cowork. The install was straightforward; having the bot available in-tree on an Arch-flavoured system removed the last excuse to keep bouncing between platforms.
