Post-IPO: bought more SPCX, living in the news cycle, still fascinated

A few weeks into life with SPCX on the tape, I have bought more a few times — still not a whale allocation, still enough that earnings whispers and flight scrub gossip hit different. Living in the news cycle is real. The cure is the same as it was in 2018: watch the hardware.

Starlink remaining inside SpaceX still feels right from the series’ point of view. Connectivity funding freighters was the plot; a demerger would have been a subplot with bankers as protagonists. I would rather read Raptor counts than spin-out speculation now that the shares exist.

Fascination has not dimmed. If anything, owning a thin slice makes the Everyday Astronaut posture more intense — you want the flights to work because the mission matters, and also because you are no longer only a spectator. That dual awareness is new. I am trying not to let the portfolio wag the awe.

Tesla, xAI, and the rest of the calendar keep moving. They are siblings in the hard-problem family. SpaceX is still the one that answers whether we become multiplanetary or stay a single-point-of-failure species.

Late September is already on my mind: the next Starship flight window, Starlink V3 talk, and a list of firsts I will only touch lightly until I can write them properly. Next up: a now-post — Flight 14-ish orbital energy, and the big doors still ahead.
